The NSC issues a single card for First Aid, CPR, and AED courses. The card is valid for two years.
Students must pass a written exam and a hands-on skills testing session with an authorized NSC instructor.

FOR CHILD CARE PROVIDERS
Registered family child care providers and approved home (in-home and family, friend and neighbor) must complete at least six hours of in-service training each year. The in-service training must include a review of, and updates on, the health, safety, child development, social and emotional behavior intervention, and other subjects covered in the orientation trainings. Registered family child care providers and their staff are required to complete 20 hours of in-service training for each three year registration period as required by regulation.

CPR training and certification empowers individuals at work. They become capable responders, boosting community safety in cardiac emergencies on the job. NSC programs are recognized by OSHA https://www.osha.gov/medical-first-aid/programs and NJ state guidelines: Current New Jersey regulations, N.J.A.C. 8:40, N.J.A.C. 8:40A, N.J.A.C. 8:41 and N.J.A.C. 8:41A, define “CPR Certification” as a valid certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the level of Professional Rescuer or Health Care Provider as issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), the American Red Cross (ARC), the National Safety Council (NSC), or other entity determined by the Department to comply with AHA CPR guidelines
National Safety Council cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) courses meet the 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. NSC first aid courses also meet the 2020 American Heart Association and American Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid. and represent the latest guidelines for CPR and First Aid. This covers all NSC First Aid courses, including FA, CPR & AED variations, Basic Life Support for Health Care and Professional Rescuers and Advanced First Aid and Basic Life Support for Health Care and Professional Rescuers.
All NSC courses are taught by authorized instructors.
Dr. Jill is a Doctor of Public Health, Certified EMT and Epidemiologist. She is an Adjunct Professor at William Paterson University in the Public Health Department and has been teaching for over a decade. Dr. Jill has been a volunteer responder with Maryland Responds MRC Medical Reserve Corps and American Red Cross. She is also a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and has worked for NIH and the CDC. She is an active authorized First Aid CPR/AED instructor and evaluator with NSC- ID# 010346793
